What To Expect With Botox
Have you considered having a small procedure to smooth out the lines on your face, but you are unsure of what to expect with Botox? Botox is a relatively quick and easy procedure that can be done in Dr. Yospur’s office. It allows you to immediately return to your normal activities.
Botox is mainly used for getting rid of creases, lines, and wrinkles in the face. It works by not allowing the muscle that received the injection to move for a certain period of time.
What To Expect With Botox – The Procedure
The procedure itself isn’t terribly uncomfortable. It should be done in a doctor’s office. A very small needle is used and tiny amounts of Botox are injected through the skin into the selected muscles. In some cases and if needed, the area can be numbed prior to the injection — although this is not usually needed for Botox injections into the skin on the face.
Afterwards, you will want to steer clear of rubbing the area where you received the injection. Keep from doing this for at least one day afterwards in order to keep the Botox from moving around.
It is no problem to resume work and activities immediately after the procedure. You will see your results within a few days after treatment and they should last for several months. After that, you may have to go back for maintenance treatments.

What To Expect With Botox – Minimal Side Effects
After the injection, you could notice that it might be slightly painful or swollen where the injection was received. Talk to your doctor about the risk of other side effects, which are rare.
If you are allergic to cow’s milk protein, Botox isn’t for you. Also talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding as it is not a good idea to undergo this procedure while you are.
Be sure to share with the doctor if you take any medications for allergies, to help you sleep, muscle relaxers, or blood thinners. Also, be sure to share with your doctor if you have had Botox injections previously (especially in the last 4 months.)
Make sure to choose a doctor, like Dr. Yospur, a plastic surgeon who values aesthetics and understands the complexities of the human form. You can combine Botox with other procedures such as chemical peels, dermal fillers, and microdermabrasion.
